Occupational Therapy & Early InterventionOccupational therapy helps children to do the things they want, need or are expected to do everyday. This includes self-care, productive and leisure occupations, such as dressing, eating, play, drawing, toileting and writing, as well as develop skills needed for school entry. The Little OT Co delivers early intervention occupational therapy services for children 0-6 years, and we are currently only accepting new clients who are under 4 years of age to ensure continuity of care for families. We have experience delivering evidence-informed care and working with children with a range of physical, intellectual, genetic and neurological conditions. This includes a diagnosis of autism, ADHD, cerebral palsy, developmental delays, Down syndrome and physical disabilities.

COVID-19 Entry Requirements (January 2023)The Little OT Co strives to provide a safe environment for all families and it is important for us as a healthcare setting to keep our workplace healthy and safe. The Little OT Co will comply with the health directions of of government and public health authorities as issued from time to time and comply with any testing and precautionary measures (social distancing, hand hygiene and face masks). We ask for all families to monitor their personal health and any personal symptoms. If you or your child is feeling unwell with a fever, cold or flu like symptoms, please reschedule your appointment to reduce spreading of illness. Thank you so much for your efforts and support.

Intake ProcessOur intake process and policy for requesting initial appointments is designed to ensure that we are able to efficiently manage our schedule and provide the best service possible to our clients. To make an initial appointment request, please complete the Referral Form to join our waitlist. It is important to include as much information as possible about your child on this form, as this helps us with our initial assessment and referral triage process. You will receive an email confirmation once the online form is received. Once this form has been completed we will review your referral, add your child to the waitlist and assign triage priority for the referral according to your child's goals and identified areas of assessment/intervention. The priority of the referral, practice capacity, and preferred day/times for families determines wait times for initial appointments. Referrals are valid for three months. Appointments for Term 2, 2024 are currently at capacity and our waitlist is open for appointments in mid-Term 2, 2024. We will get back to you by email as soon as an appointment time is available and confirm details. Please note, in order to streamline our intake process and provide a better experience for all of our clients and families, we do not accept new client appointment requests via phone calls. We are an early years occupational therapy practice and priority is for young children to access our services. Thank you for your understanding.

First AppointmentBefore First Appointment To get started, we will send you a welcome pack with your appointment day/time, information about our practice and intake forms to complete prior to attending your first appointment. This includes: Parent/Guardian Questionnaire Consent & Privacy Policy Appointment & Cancellation Policy Emailing any extra reports or referrals from your child’s educational, medical or allied health team. This may include a copy of NDIS plan goals, start/end dates and participant number. Should a progress report be required for family or funding purposes, please let us know prior to attending your first appointment, as this type of report will incur a report writing fee. At First Appointment We offer our families scheduled appointment times and appreciate families arriving to their appointments on time. When you arrive at The Little OT Co, please first check with your therapist prior to entering our studio space as they may be setting up or finishing an appointment with another family. If you arrive to your appointment early, we kindly ask you to wait outside until your therapist is ready at your scheduled appointment time. Your initial appointment at The Little OT Co will focus on: Establishing rapport with your child in a play-based way and individualised to your child's interests and abilities, Collecting information about your reasons for accessing occupational therapy, your child's occupational history and identifying strengths and any barriers to participation in daily activities, Completing an observational or formal assessment to gain an understanding of your child's current skills and abilities and Providing recommendations and observations throughout the session, Collaborating with you to identify occupation-focused goals and establishing a plan for any further support/intervention (if required), Completing a service agreement to access ongoing therapy supports for families accessing occupational therapy services through NDIS, Answering any questions you may have about occupational therapy or The Little OT Co.

Price GuideWe support families accessing occupational therapy services through NDIS Funding (both self-managed and plan-managed), Medicare (Chronic Disease Management) as recommended by your GP, private health insurance or or self funded by families. Payment is required at the time of service delivery. Initial Assessment: $290.00 per 60 minute session + 30 minute record keeping, assessment scoring and planning. This is billed at 90 minutes. Ongoing Therapy: $190.00 per 50 minute session + 10 minute record keeping and planning. This is billed at one hour. Additional charges will apply for your therapist to travel to deliver mobile occupational therapy services at your child’s childcare, kindy, school or home. Mobile visits are subject to therapist availability. Travel to mobile visits is charged in addition to therapy session fee. A travel quote will be provided before commencement of mobile visits and is calculated using Goggle Maps and billed between our practice at Carina and the address of the mobile visit. This is billed pro rata at the same hourly rate of therapy. Additional charges will apply for your therapist to write reports and letters, prepare resources, and liaising with educators and health care professionals. This is billed pro rata at the same hourly rate of therapy.

LocationsServices are provided at The Little OT Co studio in Carina. Mobile occupational therapy services are also available at your child’s childcare, kindy or home, subject to therapist availability and your child's therapy goals. Travel to mobile visits is charged in addition to therapy session fee and a quote will be provided prior to commencement of community visits. ** Please note, all mobile visits are at capacity for Term 4 2023 **
